Over the past few weeks I’ve been thinking a lot about 2017, I guess at this time of year we’ve all got our obligatory reflective heads on and in deep thought about everything we would like the new year to bring.
Mainly, I’ve been thinking about which direction I would like to take my business over the next 12-months, which means that I’ve been spending a lot of time with my planner and pretty journals brain dumping all of my feelings and ideas. There’s just so much that I want to achieve over the next 12 months that getting it all down on paper helps bring some clarity to the haze in my head. My brain is constantly bursting with ideas that sometimes it can be hard to sleep. Waking up with a light bulb moment at 1 am is not ideal, so I’ve been keeping my journal by my bed so I can quickly note everything down – I don’t want to forget anything. Plus, it’s nice to have everything written down together in one place.
When my whirring brain isn’t waking me up in the middle of the night, my favourite way to reflect on the year has been finding a quiet moment in my day (usually when Aiden is at nursery or napping) and settling down with a hot mug of tea. I love my herbal teas, especially turmeric tea, so when Yogi Tea kindly invited me to try their new Turmeric Chai tea I was super excited because it’s a blend of two of my favourite flavours.
The classic turmeric taste comes through well, but you also get all the warm flavours from the chai spices too. The tea is a blend of turmeric root, cinnamon, liquorice, ginger, cardamom, black pepper, apples fennel, mace, cocoa shells, and cloves. Like all Yogi Tea products, this tea definitely has a unique taste, which I love. It’s a brand of tea that I’ve enjoyed for a long time and I remember nodding along to their ethos, which is very much in line with my own: creating a conscious and holistic lifestyle to help balance mind, body, and spirit.
At the core of the YOGI TEA® Turmeric Chai is the sentiment that it functions like the calming warmth of the sun. This concept is a fantastic way to view saying goodbye to 2017 (sunset) and waving hello to 2018 (sunrise) and prompted me to think about my own #goldenmoment from 2017.
For me, it definitely has to be taking the leap and starting my health-coaching course with Integrative Nutrition. I’d been mulling it over for so long and researched so many similar courses, but 3 months in I know that it’s the right course for me. I was so scared to commit to the course at first, in fear of not being good enough and not being able to fit it into my daily routine. Not to say that it’s been easy, but I’m plodding along nicely on the course and really enjoying it. I feel that it’s going to open up so many new doors for me.
The community aspect of the course is what has surprised me so much. When you run a small business by yourself at home, it can be very quiet and isolating meaning that the opportunity to meet new people is slim. However, over the past few months, I’ve connected with so many amazing women from all from different backgrounds, but all with the common goal to support and lift each other up.
All my upcoming #goldenmoments for 2018 are very much centred on setting up my coaching business and all the new adventures, opportunities, and people who it will bring into my life. I have a deep passion for wanting to try to help as many women as possible to live their best life. I can’t believe that we’ve entered a new year already, but I’m very excited to see what it’s going to bring.
